When I was six if you asked me what I would be when I grow up, my answer was alway " I want to be a Millionaire" . The way I figured it I might have to work 20 years and save 50,000 dollars a year. So far I have not even come close to this goal. I seem to be going the opposite direction. But hubpages and your article can help me in the right direction.

It's easy to become a millionaire: throw away all ethics, become a psychopath, stop caring about people, use people, take every opportunity to make profit regardless of the cost, scheme, destroy all human values, lie, steal, cheat, use bribery and corruption. Or, then again, you could try being human, which is guaranteed not to make you rich, but has the advantage that at least you don't have to hurt people along the way.

I will probably be dead before I make a million dollars! I will be 106 years old!

Truth is I want to spend my days living and investing is not on my mind. Can't take it with me when I die anyway so I might as well enjoy it while I'm still alive :)

The only chance to make a million dollars is to be self employed. If you are working for someone else, you are putting money in their pocket and they are paying you only a monthly salary.

An interesting article. I was luck enough to hear Pat Messiti speak last summer and he was of the same opinion, the mind has to be at "millionaire status" before you can physically become a "money millionaire". It's a huge and deeply interesting subject.

I am a great believer in the maxim that you should treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself. And I think generally within this break-neck world in which we live there is a yearning for more caring, people oriented service in many lines of business.

I find it sad to read comments like CJStone because that attitude, to me suggests "I've given up".

I firmly believe you can make money being human, caring and giving. And, having that indset is part of your millionaire preparation!

Cheers

Derek
