Thank you for putting this hub together, RA. There are a lot of good suggestions here!
As always, this is very good and useful hub, RA!
Thanks for sharing us
Intents to write poetry one freelance basis
good info-thanks!
great thanks so much
Writing poetry to order is frankly an abandonment of the soul. It's the same as painting something that someone else has told you to paint. I can understand the need for an income but there's so much lame stuff out there that seems to appeal to the candyass market of wannabe celebs and sanitised audiences.
I'd advocate self publishing to everyone rather than beat yourself up trying to please a publisher who isn't really interested in what you do other than labelling and selling.
It's why literature is so weak at present with so many allegedly 'big' authors producing insipid work.
Me bitter?? No. Just tired of the hype.
Express yourself without selling your soul.
RA - If you have not yet visited Joe Badtoe's profile page, may I suggest that you do so. It is probably the funniest profile that ever appeared on Hubpages.
Gus :-)))
Great hub and thanks so much for the information. It was information I have been looking everywhere to find.
Well beyond the vivid description of heart soul etc.
Poetry is a feeling in itself, if it brings a smile/tear on your face, then surely it served it purpose.
How do I submit a poem? Thank you.
brilliant hub thank you
Great hub with a lot of useful information. I write poetry as a means of expressing thoughts and emotions I find hard to express otherwise. For me, there is something in the process of writing a poem that help me crystallize into something coherent the sometimes wildly disparate thoughts I have about a subject. I've never really thought about trying to write poetry professionally though. I would think it very difficult to make a living doing so. Thanks!
the soul i a mind that is not touched by many the ones that do touch it are lucky for they see the inner beauty that is the soul that one can not let go
What a great hub! VERY informative and easy to read. Thank you for sharing
Thanks!!!

good points, however I personally feel that poetry is a expression of the heart, mind and soul a very deep feeling and sometimes it's hard to get it out right. The words be there but putting them together is the expression of your emotions and trying to put them into the proper context the right way then I usually say Oh God!Thank you!
