Micro Niches for your blog or website

Looking for ways to find micro niches, one of the things that micro niche marketing does is look for products and services that people are using and ready to buy online.

The following will give you some useful micro niche marketing tips to help you with getting more traffic and making sales. Next we will discuss finding your hidden niche market, as well as ways to dominate your competition with profitable market niches.

How to find a Micro Niche inside a larger Niche

Migraines is a broad niche but migraines during pregnancy or migraines and menopause are micro niches because they narrow down to a specific group or symptom.

Dandruff is another one that has a smaller niche which is Seborrheic dermatitis, a skin disorder affecting the scalp, so by concentrating on a sub category of a main niche you will have a low competition.

Acne is another one that can be narrowed down to acne scar removal, which is going to reach those who are into more than just treating acne outbreaks. And the same process can be used for Warts, Asthma,Hair loss, Athlete's foot.

Many will say Thank you for the detailed explanation! I'm searching for a micro niche now, but I really can't find one that is both interesting to me and not competitive in the same time.

Check for Micro Niches in your surroundings and environment

One way to know what to write about is to look around your neighborhood, in your refridgerator, in your closet, in your backyard, in old books, in the television guide. The reason is because if you buy it, use it or have it so does a lot of other people, so you will want to learn how to cater to the needs of consumers.

Some questons to ask yourself if you are looking for new topics to write about.

Do you like pets, if so which kind and what physical characteristics do the pets have? Do you like to cook? if so what types of dishes and what ingredients are needed? Do you like to sew? if so what type of things do you make? This is where you will find micro niche topics of interests that are universal.

Keep track of current events, popular trends:

Notice what is going on in the media, current trends among demographical groups by age and gender for example women shaving part of their head is a fade of interest, teens putting together dance crews are popular, more people are learning to play the guitar, growing vegetable gardens inside the house is also a new trend. Once you tap into looking for the things going on in the world and in your local area, you will be able to spot micro niches to use for your web content that is relevant and in demand.

Hey, that is outside the box thinking (or outside the computer). I'll keep an eye for those odd categories now that could prove to be a gold nugget. And everybody could use a little gold these days. Great tip

I agree ocbill that the best ideas are offline.

Those are some great tips Research Analyst.....as there are millions of micro niches out there that people can make money off still...good job!

Research Analyst 2 years ago

Hey waynet, thanks for the encouragement, I see so many trends coming out of this recession that if a person is smart about it they can really monopolize the emerging niches as they happen.

Marisa Wright 2 years ago

This is the first time I've ever seen anyone suggest ways to find niches other than through keyword analysis of some kind - well done!

Research Analyst 2 years ago

Thanks marisa for the comment, I have found that most people operate under the "herd" mentality so they seem to follow the crowd and whatever the majority says is HOT then they jump all over it like bees to honey. When in actuality there are multiple ways to achieve the same results, it just takes creativity and as the saying goes " thinking outside of the box" or like I prefer to say is create your own box.

The whole micro niches thing is the start of any blackhat SEO project but this first step seems to have hit the mainstream in the last 12 months or so, who knows what tactic will be pushed as "best practice" next!

I love the Micro Niche movement. It's going strength to strength post recession, and a lot of creative freelancers are benefitting. It does mean you have to look harder to find a good one, so great advice in this hub. Cheers!

An excellent article.

You can also try putting business cards in magazines at doctor's offices as well as in books at local libraries and university libraries.

Never thought of looking through magazines for niche ideas but that could work well especially with some of the professional niches (architecture, medicine, etc).
