What do Hotel Inspectors do?

First you will need to take classes in property management, along with courses in Hospitality Management Training, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hotel Management Schools, Restaurant Management Degrees Travel and Tourism, hotel and motel management

Conduct departure, arrival, damage, deep-clean and light-clean examination of property units check-lists.Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily arrival inspections as assigned by Housekeeping Supervisor, informing the front desk when arrival units become available.
  • Perform daily departure inspections, informing the Housekeeping Supervisor when departure units become available.
  • Check unoccupied units for proper thermostat settings, maintenance problems, lights turned off, and for any unauthorized use of rooms.
  • Check carry-over units for thermostat settings, lights turned off, doors and windows locked. Strip unit of garbage and linens.
  • Check that all entry doors are closed and locked; check that laundry chutes are locked; inspect linen rooms and carts for cleanliness.
  • Provide maids with keys, assignment sheets and ensure that linen carts have necessary supplies and accessories to properly clean units.
  • Record and report all maintenance deficiencies. Maintain vacuum and key log.
  • Inspect condition of linens and verify linen count. Ensure all keys are returned at the end of the day.
  • Housekeeping Attendant duties required during off-season, and when business necessitates additional assistance in cleaning units.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Must have professional cleaning and inspection experience

Hotel Inspector Job Description forProperty Management Inspector and the Property Management Housekeeping Supervisor includes:

Supervising cleaning personnel and inspecting hotel guestrooms, bathrooms, corridors, and lobbies: you will also be assigning work to cleaning personnel, training personnel in housekeeping duties.

Other duties include posting room occupancy records. Adjusting guests complaints regarding housekeeping service or equipment.

Even as a inspector you will write requisitions for room supplies and furniture renovation or replacements along with reporting the need for room redecoration to a housekeeper.

You will be required to examine carpets, drapes and furniture for stains, damage, or wear as you check and counts linens and supplies.

When you record inspection results and notifiy cleaning personnel of inadequacies it will be necessary to perform cleaning duties designated according to area supervised as floor supervisor.
