Ways to avoid work at home scams

In order to avoid money making work at home scams its necessary to know that to start today you must first read this information that will explain ways to avoid the money making work at home scams that you will find online.

Many programs and schemes bring out the con artists and scammers. So beware, its a rule of thumb that you should not pay for a job.

If someone is asking for money before you can start working to make money online then its time to jump ship. No matter the size, even if its a small amount such as five dollars or two dollars just remember that the con artist get rich during hard times.

Thats when they can find the most victims because they are desperate, vulnerable and unaware of the real companies that are out there on the internet.

Why having a business contact number or address is important

Business contact information is another way to keep from getting scammed with work at home make money home based opportunities.

  • Can you contact them?
  • Do they have a working number and address?
  • The internet has allowed many to hide behind domain names and web addresses so its important to be able to contact the business or call anytime.

When you send an email do you get a speedy response.

The better the customer service the better you will feel not to mention more comfortable too. Another one is called scambusters.org where it lists recent scams, website scams and email scams and much more so you can keep aware of what is happening on the internet.

I will definitely agree that avoiding scams in the online business world can be hard and you have to learn how to get around it!

What type of home based work at home opportunity do you want?

Some of the things to look for starts with what type of work you are looking for online, do you want to type, write or do you want to talk and set appointments.

See the job boards like Monster, Career Builder, and more have listings for telecommute, teleworker, freelance work, work at home and business opportunities.

If you look at the ads being displayed on the main page of the site you will notice these types of job announcements.

So the first rule of thumb is to realize that just because they are listed on a major job site does not mean they are legitimate jobs. Basically if your company has enough money to pay for top ad placement then you will get listed.

Job boards will say that they screen the companies before they post them. But they can not catch them all. Some bad apples slip through the cracks.

There are so many ways to make money online from home you just have to define what type of work you want to do and if you have the necessary home office to do it in.

How Not to get Scammed

I also may have some information that will help some people out who are looking to avoid getting scammed and still come out ahead! Recently I was searching for a job that I could simply do from my home or somewhere near by. Well I was searching for a few weeks and nothing really interested me or sounded like it would actually come through for me.

Well anyways a couple days ago I discovered this website hubpages Well you are probably wondering what they offer you. Well its not so much that they offer you a job, but more importantly that they guide you to a job. Every day or two there is a new blog posting on a new interesting job, that might be right for you.

The experience levels for these posts will also vary. Some don't require much experience but others you may just need to be a genius for. They also all pay different, so feel free to have a good look at hubpages, and maybe it will help you as much as it has helped me!

What to look for to spot a scam

How to tell if a job online is real

Now you are probably wondering how you can tell if a job is real or not. First of all do not give out personal information such as bank account numbers, personal account user or passwords.

Identity theft is still ramped and the internet just makes it even easier for con artists to steal peoples identity by pretending to be a real company who is in need of workers.

Recommendations are always the best way to find real legitimate jobs

read forums, check out work at home sites that are high in the search engines. This will tell you that if a lot of people are linking to this site and they are giving positive testimonals than you can more than likely proceed.

Also check online for any complaints filed about the company. There is a place on the internet that reports all rip off and scam sites its called Ripoff Report here you will be able to read other consumers complaints about companies that did not deliver the services they promised.

Ask questions and research companies before you send any money

Its important to do your homework and ask questions, find out what others have to say about a particular program or job before you invest any of your time. Home based work at home job reviews are good places to start, many can be found online some of the best places to find reviews are the authority sites such as about.com or work at home forums.

A popular blog that you will want to read on how not to get scammed is at http://hownottogetscammed.blogspot.com/ this blog is written by Kristy a work at home mom.

So its important to take your time and not to rush into anything.

Its worth it to first know what type of work at home jobs are available online and then assess your skills and see how they match up. Its a jungle out there and now the super internet highway has gotten really busy.

This information teaches me what to look out for when it comes to looking for work online.. I've spent several hundreds of dollars looking for work in he past.. Not anymore I won't I know what to look for

basically any stranger contacting you and offering you anything should be viewed with HUGE suspicion. If it comes in an email DELETE DELETE DELETE. Use your network of REAL LIFE contacts to get work.

I would love to work from home. It's a dream of mine. The only way I can think to do it safely is to become independently wealthy so I can write and invent.

I agree with almost everything suggested in this hub. However, I don't necessarily consider every opportunity that asks for some money upfront to be a scam. There is, in my opinion, a bit of a difference between a regular job and start a business (no matter what side).

It is understood in the business world that starting a business takes an investment. It is very rare that one can start a business without investing anything - whether to that business or through one's own expenses. In fact, I've never heard of a true opportunity that can be started without investing any money. And sometimes it's understood that you may not make any money. With one's own business, there are no guarantees. That doesn't make it a scam or illegal. It could just be bad timing or flaws with the industry or product.

Jobs are a little different, but even with them sometimes you must make an investment. It's just that people don't think of it the same way. If a job requires you to purchase certain clothing or shoes for your uniform (as many do), then you're investing in that job. The only difference is that as long as you're working you're guaranteed a paycheck.

I do agree, though, that you have to really do your research to determine the best opportunities. Even with research it's possible to hit a snag. But doing due diligence can help you spend your money where it will do the most good. So don't be afraid to ask questions, check companies and products out, and don't believe the first thing you hear just because it sounds good. Being cautious is about the only thing that can keep you from being scammed by money making opportunities online.

The bottom line is always: "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!" The internet is chock full of fraud, be careful!
