As you are probably aware in February 2010, the Nets finalized a deal to move to the Prudential Center in Newark until the Barclays Center opens in Brooklyn. The Nets beat the San Antonio Spurs for the first time since the 2003 NBA Finals allowing for the win to be the 10th of the season, finishing with a 12-70 record being the 5th team to lose 70 games in a season along with the Philadelphia 76ers , Los Angeles Clippers, Dallas Mavericks and the Denver Nuggets.

In the 2010 NBA Draft 3rd overall pick Derrick Favors was picked out of Georgia Tech, then Avery Johnson was named the new head coach of the Nets with Sam Mitchell named as assistant coach.

Later Billy King was named the new general manager of the Nets along with the Trade and Arrival of Deron Williams

It was in February 2011, the Nets made a deal to acquire perennial All-Star point guard Deron Williams from the Utah Jazz where the team plans on considering groundbreaking for Barclays Center.
