KTM Motorcycle History

It has been reported that the company was founded in 1934 by engineer Hans Trunkenpolz in Mattighofen which started out as a metalworking shop and was named Kraftfahrzeug Trunkenpolz Mattighofen as well as in 1953 that KTM began production of motorcycles with just 20 employees, the motorcycles were built at the rate of three per day.

As you are probably aware in 1955, a businessman Ernst Kronreif became shareholder of the company, on acquiring a sizable portion of the company.It was then renamed Kronreif and Trunkenpolz Mattighofen. so when Trunkenpolz died unexpectedly in 1989. so these early years of motocycle production at KTM, almost all components for the motorcycles were built in-house by KTM.

KTM Off-Road Motorcycle

Enduro The 2009 EXC line consists of 250, 450, 510 cc four-strokes, as well as 125, 200, 250 and 300 cc two strokes. Becoming a long-time favourite for Enduro market, while outselling other Enduro racers.

Wow! That sure is some extensive information on KTM motorcycles. I was quite pleased when the company entered into the streetbike category with a variety of sporting and adventure-touring road-going machines. I never was really into off-roading.
