Natural Hair Products for Kinky Hair
Natural hairstyles and Hair Care for kinky hair
Kinky hair products which are the best for your hair are ones that is not stripping and does not dry the hair out.
You will find that you will need to have many different hair routines and hair products to maintain the types of hairstyles that you want whether its during the day or night.
Kinky natural hairstyles is more porous so it will suck up a lot of moisture, the best way to manage kinky, coily, hair is to make sure that it is really wet.
Styling products work best on tightly curled hair when it is wet and in order to get good curl definition one will need to detangle hair in the shower.
Braidouts are among some of the more popular ways to wear kinky hair because it allows for a looser curl pattern and a variety in hairstyles.
There is a misconception that one needs to add oil to kinky hair to make it healthy and shiny, this is not the case, natural oils absorb into the hair why synthetic oils leave a waxy buildup on the hair which causes the hair to look dull.

How to Roller Set Natural Hair
Wearing hair in various styles especially when you have tightly coily hair it can be easy to manage with roller sets. You can choose from flexi rods or magnetic snap on rollers.
The no heat method for getting your hair bouncy and full of volume starts with the right type of hair rollers.
This method can be done on dry or wet hair, you may achieve a better curl if your hair is damp before you roll it up at night. This can be achieved with a spray water bottle.
Seperate your hair in big enough sections to and detangle your hair, afterwards take the tip of the hair that is stretched and roll it up, securing it with a bobby pin.
Repeat each step until your whole head is complete. Use a satin silk bonnette to cover the rollers while you sleep.
Roller set for Transitioning Styles
If you are growing out a relaxer you may want to use rollers to style your hair and keep the ends from breaking. Make sure to use a hair oil to keep the relaxed hair from getting tangled while wet.
Depending on your hair texture you may need to stretch the hair first with the no tension method and a low heat blowdryer, or you can just do a braid-out but for the best effect you will need to blow-out and detangle before adding the roller set.

Ixxy please don't refer to us as darker skinned species....wtf is that......african american will work just fine....thx
Black women are queens and have influenced fashion, hair and beauty for centuries, woman of other ethnicities have spent thousands of dollars to get fuller lips, darker skin, curly hair, bigger behinds, when sisters have all these things naturally, so it goes to show that african american woman are leaders and have much to be proud of.
Are ancestors were innovators and so are we. We've contributed more than many could ever guess.Plus we've turned the beauty industry into a billion dollar industry with our buying power.
Only if we could unite and put this money into our communities. Anyway I love your post and can tell you enjoy giving the knowledge.
African American hair has been misunderstood for so long but always beautiful and versatile when treated properly. It has it's own attitude, If it's mistreated it will go away!
esllr, you make a good point african americans spend the most on haircare products, styling aids and salon visits, and as you mentioned if only these commerce dollars were put into investing in real estate to rebuild our neighborhoods and put our youth through quality education.
Really nice hub Research Analyst. Thank you for sharing. I have recently written a hub within the same niche and I would really like your opinion on it.

Although, just glancing, I was surprised no Miss Jessie's products were mentioned, (however I may just be a "stan" since it worked wonders and greatly enhanced growth and manageability during my transition period)! (;
ms shae thanks for sharing your experience with miss jessies products, I have heard of good things about them as well, not sure if amazon carries their products.
Thanks for the info...great hub!!!
Miss Jessie's is full of toxic ingredients and bad preservatives which is why is wasn't mentioned. So not good for the overall and eventual health of one's hair.
Thanks for this informative post. I've been struggling to find the best products for my hair. I go to a salon in Austin - http://www.joseluissalon.com and they recommended several products as well that I've been really happy with. The Kinky Curly products are my favorite...
Wow, thanks a million for taking time out to educate we women that want to go all natural. Wish i had seen this years ago. I had actually started growing natural hair alomost three years ago but eventually gave up the tough battle because my hair is hard to maintain. It's tough and hair stylists complain about the stress i put them through in styling or braiding my hair. I'm a Nigerian and live there as well. The most i've seen for managing kinky hair are Texturizers. Where i live, there isn't a wide range of natural hair products cos everyone is strictly on a perm. It's not a common desire to grow your hair natural so the products are not in high demand! i feel so sad to have switched back to a perm. It's just that my hair with all that texturizing began to thin out and my hairline was receding cos of the toughness of my hair. Nonetheless i've decided once more to start again and this time i'm sticking to it! Just a few questions, how do i get these wonderful products you've talked about and how to use them. I wont mind a strict regime i can work with.
All the same, thanks so much for this, truly appreciate it

Cool stuff. =D I always loved the hair on your darker skinned species, it seems more fun to play with than those with other types.
