After much anticipation I went to the Best Buy in my area and purchased a copy of Nicki Minaj latest album, I was pretty excited to hear it and see what she has to offer the hip hop world. To my surprise she was not rapping much at all, the songs were pretty commercial and pop, singing and club beats.

The style of the record would be one for universal appeal but not much for those who are into hardcore rap music.

It has more of a typical radio top 10 or hit single sound than what I was expecting. I will admit that Nicki can rap but for some reason it was not showcased very well for her first LP.

I look forward to seeing what other sounds, styles and music she puts out in the months and years to come, but I will say for her first CD, it will be a winner and get plenty of air time as well as iTune downloads.
