Starting Your Own Bakery Business

What could more fun than opening up a Sweets Bakery. Getting to play with dough and flour and frosting all day. Yummy

Well now if you like to bake cookies and cakes and cupcakes, brownies and pies now you can make money doing it too.

The overhead is low and the profits are high. I have heard of bakeries that only sold cupcakes and they earned 6 figure incomes a year.

Some of my favorite, baked goods are pound cake, oatmeal raisin cookies, chocolate cake, lemon pie and banana cream pie.

Strawberry pie is good when in season and who could forget about cherry pie.

Owning a bakery is a dream of those who love to bake cakes and brownies for sale.

Operating you won shop will take big investment of time and money. It helps if you have a background in food management and pastry arts.

Sweets and Treats

cookies are good with some cold milk and a slice of apple pie is always a good way to put a smile on your face.

Now chocolate brownies are my guilty pleasure, I like nuts so if they have walnuts in them I will eat the whole pan full.

Now the toppings are the best like whipped cream, vanilla ice cream or sprinkles, now how could I forget hot fudge syrup, simply the best.

Financing your business can take the shape of credit cards, grants and money from family members.

Next you will want to check your neighborhood and see what would be a great location for your bakery shop.

Permits and Licenses

The city may require that you get a business licenses and permits. Retail bakeries can be costly and it may be better to find an existing pastry shop that is for sale by owner.

Bakery Equipment

Kitchen equipment can be purchased form commercial restaurant wholesalers. Lastly you will want to have your building up to code and pass a health inspection.

Passing Health Inspection

Keeping a clean facility is important and have a well trained staff to handle the day to day operations is key to your success.

I'd never make any money in that business. I'd consume all the profits.
