Black Hair Care

Black hair care, for natural hair growth, curly hair products for natural curls. Styling of african american textured hair for health and beauty. Natural black hair care is depended on the right styling products.

Finding the type of styles that will fit best with you daily routine is possible when you learn your hair type and what works best for the type of hair you have.

If your hair is naturally curly one of the best things you can do for it is to keep it moisturized. Inorder to retain moisture the ingredients must contain elements that do not dry out your hair, some of the best ingredients for your hair styling products are as follows: Shea Butter, Coconut milk, jojoba oil, Rosemary, Cedarwood.

What is the best natural hair products

The best products will vary from person to person, not everyone can use the same products and get the same results, hair type plays a big role in how your hair will take to a thick creamy conditioner versus a lightweight spray.

If you hair is fine with a loose curl pattern the results you get from using a styling product will be different than someone who has a thick, tight coily hair. heavy creams may work best with certain hair types while others it just leaves the hair feeling heavy. Trial and error is the best advice I can give about picking the right hair care products for your natural hair.

Benefits of shea butter for skin and hair

Shea butter is what many who have decided to go natural and wear their hair in coils, twists, locs or bantu knots prefer to use to give them the soft manageable hair.

Tightly coiled hair needs to get plenty of moisture which many styling products seem to strip away needed nurishment.

Shea butter is natural fat that comes from fruit, it comes in a solid substance and can be melted down and mixed with other oils.

Shea butter is also good for the skin, and blemishes. Biggest benefits for your hair is its repairing and protecting from weather damage, hydrates scalp and prevents dryness.

Not all skin and hair products that are natural come from a shampoo or conditioner bottle, you can find great hair vitamins for natural hair by taking vitamin E, C, D and fish oil based capsules.

Wide Tooth Comb for detangling

Natural coily and tightly curled hair looks strong but is very fragile and needs to be taken care of gently when styling.

The best way to detangle curly hair is to use a wide tooth comb, seperating tightly coiled or kinky hair starting from the ends, slowly moving upward until the hair combs through easily.

Smoothing hair while preventing split ends, which is the number one reason for lack of hair growth in black hair is the unending breakage caused by styling agents, chemicals and harsh combing techniques.

Protect your ends and use a wide tooth comb when styling black natural hair.

There are many brands available on the market, test comb by raking it on your hand to see if it is too sharp, you want a comb with smooth ends so that it will not tear and damage your scalp or your hair.

Benefits of Leave-in Conditioner for natural hair

Most curly heads know that keeping moisture in the hair is vital for hair growth and healthy looking shine, some of the best conditioners are leave-in.

Finding the right leave-in conditioner that is not too oily and does not weigh the hair down is what makes a natural hairstyle look its best.

Some leave in conditioners can be sprayed on the hair while others have a more creamy texture that can be applied directly to the hair after a shampoo.

If you air dry your hair or use a diffuser to dry your hair this type of conditioner can be left in until your next shampoo. So that you hair maintains its managablility.

Top styling tool for natural black hair maintenance

Once you get a routine for washing and conditioning your kinky coily hair you will find that certain styling tools work better than others. If you frequent the Youtube channels you will see plenty of black woman sharing tips on how to use certain hair accessories for the best results.

The first step for those who are relaxed to natural is to protect the ends of the hair with bobby pins and hair clips. If you wear a protective updo hairstyle fun fashion ideas include plastic hair pins or sticks.

Transitioning maintenance will help you with regrow hair tips for previously chemically treated hair damage. While you moisturize the new growth you will want to trim your straight ends a few inches each month. Not all protective hairstyles for transitioning is created equal some will work best for overnight while other styles can be worn outside while you go to school or work.

A soft bristle brush is good for smoothing down edges and flattening hair away from your face. Then a silk or satin hair cover will keep your two strand twists and braids from coming loose or getting frizzy. Some hair repair products can cause dryness so avoid ingredients that contain alcohol.

Elastic hair bands work well for ponytails but should be used at a minimum because repeated use can cause pulling of the hair or breakage. If you want some variety in your hairstyles it is possible to still have straight hair. To switch up your curly look for a straight one you can try many heat training methods that look really good with no teeth headbands.

So What about organic root stimulator Olive oil? I use the shampoo and conditioner. The conditioner is good but still leaves my hair dry.

you must make sure that the natural hair products you use do not have alcohol or mineral oil in them because this will cause drying of the hair.

I'm looking for the best leave-in conditioner to keep up the healthy natural look of my hair. I have long, thick, healthy hair that can be dry at times. I get a deep condition once a month from my hair stylist. I sometimes switch up styles between straight & curls. My hairstylist uses Nioxon products when I'm in the salon but, I am unable to buy those without a license. When I wash my hair myself, I use Aveda or Moroccan Oil. Please help.

Val,

Black women need to keep their scalp lightly oiled.

If your hair can not use perms, don't use them.

Old fashion pressing, braids or natural do will do will grow your hair. Prayer, a women hair is her glory.

My best experience with leave-in conditioner was with Cantu. Using that conditioner made my hair lie down much better in my Afro puff ponytail and feel better overall.
